The album backstory:

Innocent = a person who has very little experience and does not yet know about the bad things that happen in life.

I left my job in January ’23. I did it to get my life in balance after running too fast too long. I felt burnt and depressed. And I didn’t feel like writing music at all.

Then the music started writing me. The memories of innocence.

When I was a kid, I built all kinds of imaginary worlds with legos, stones, cardboard boxes and with whatever was available.

Some years later I started playing games. Then came the movies. Me and Jarkko built our own lightsabers and had furious fights in the dark forest. Soon after, I found bands with heavy sounds, monstrous makeups and larger than life outfits. Those superheroes were from the other world. They deserved their posters on my wall. I also fell in love for the first time. I thought it was meant to be forever.

All that was so immersive and true for the innocent mind.

Then slowly, that pure innocence started collapsing. Other people started telling me how things really are and what I really am. Bullies tried to bring me down, and the girl found another boy. The Demon and The Starchild were just ordinary men behind their makeups and there was no life on Mars.

Every year since then I have lost some of my innocence. Now the rest is well hidden in my heart and in my music.

I am still building imaginary worlds.

Basically every song on this album has a structure similar to those on progressive metal albums. You never know what to expect and how the song will shift in the next few seconds. That makes listening to it very interesting. Also, this is probably my favorite sound Glitch Black has used so far. Hard to pick a favorite song though, had to decide between Starcatcher and Forever War. FLESH MECHANIC

I don't know what it is, but in DWTD's discography this record really stands out to me. Picking a favourite track is difficult because all of the songs sound incredible to me, but POISON is probably the most fresh and energetic song in my opinion. zWarhead
